A learning 3D project

I have just watched a brilliant tutorial on how to incorporate Maya & Mudbox into a positive work flow for character design and it has given me an idea on how to teach myself a good fundamental understanding of modeling a character.

The idea is to build a good mesh in Maya with a good topology and then take that in Mudbox, I will then use Mudbox to create a Displacement map, Bump map and a Normal map. I will also need to grab an occlusion map too from Maya.

This is a good little mini-project and I will make a start on it next week (birthday beers may well suck the the creative momentum out of the weekend lol)
